HOW WE CHOOSE AND COMPARE

Good advice starts with your job.

We explain what a tool does, where it helps and what you need alongside it.

Start with a real task

Sanding a door, putting together a cabinet and building a deck call for different equipment. We explain the choices in everyday language and separate must-have parts from optional upgrades.

Use sources that fit the question

Manufacturer instructions help establish tool functions and compatibility. Safety authorities help explain hazards and controls. A retailer can tell us its price and stock, but that is not proof that its product is the best choice for everyone.

Compare the complete setup

Accessories, consumables, protection and delivery can change the total. We check exact models and fittings before calling an accessory compatible. If a fitting is unclear, we say what still needs checking rather than guessing.

Keep commercial links clear

An affiliate link may earn a commission. We label those relationships and do not let commission outweigh suitability or safety. Research-based guides do not imply personal testing; a hands-on review would explain the test.

Keep improving the information

Each guide shows its update date and sources. Send a correction, page address and useful reference to our contact address. We review material errors and update the affected guidance.
